Rationale

My app is mostly aimed towards tourists. Upon entering the museum they will be asked whether they would like a device. The instructions are mostly built into the app so it doesn’t require heaps of explaining at the beginning.

A major of being a tourist that I found was their time restrictions and the want for them to make the most out of what Te Papa offers.

The app is meant to be pretty simple with not too many elements to distract from actually going out and experiencing Te Papa itself. It is an app that aids the tourist to e.g. find out where to go, book tours, learn about exhibits and also as a take away have the option to send the favourited audio, information and also a map of their journey to their phone or email.

The map shows tools to guide the tourist who is unfamiliar with the surroundings; of nearby recommended exhibits and draws paths to the point the tourist wants to be guided to.

The Touch point aspect of the app is so that the tourists can quickly get information from the exhibits they like and step back and look at the exhibit. This is also good for crowds so that everyone can see the information at one time. The NFC signs would ideally be placed around all major exhibits.
