Notes/More brainstorming after user testing

Notes

Just noted down ideas and words to help refine my app. I felt that my app still lacked some uniqueness. Also, I did however have some navigational issues when user testing which I need to fix but that may also be because my app was incomplete in terms of design and ideas at the moment.

Other key notes were:
-Some screens had too much going on which affects usability so going forward I need to simplify my screens or add more screens to divide up the information.
-fix navigation issues
-Make the app have a Te Papa flavour, have something only Te Papa can give you
-Consider text size, buttons, contrast, icons
-Have floor levels

Refined Layout trials for app

-I was thinking of the idea that the user goes around Te Papa the each exhibit has a NFC or some type of touch point. The touch points would be ideally located close to the exhibit on signs.
-The point of this is to encourage people to stubble across and go to the exhibits rather than spending all their time searching on their device.

-When the person touches the touch point with their device they receive info on the exhibit.
-This is so they can step back and look at the exhibit rather than standing too close. Which would be most useful in crowded exhibits.

I wanted to use the idea of the thumbprint in Te papa's logo as a stamp icon on the map. I used it as a marker to where the user wants to go. The market stays on the map when the user continues their journey through Te Papa.
