Notes from class

Develop App

Opportunities

-Option to set time constraints/make/save tours
-Have the option for audio instead of type? (both?)
-Feed people's comments? Create a conversation?

-Indication of where to stand or look (markers?), NFC tap on sign to indicate they have arrived and are looking at a specific exhibit?

-The style direction
-Key word searches, fractal, words (themes?, natural history?)
-Encourage people to stumble upon or surprise factor
-Resolve language factors-->affect layouts (e.g. reading right to left), character or live host?, modes where it varies for different languages, have suggestions rather than a full on home at first so they don't have to put in search straight away.
-Encourage group involvement

-Crowd sourcing/nationalities?be able to find/see on app?
--->common places where crowd gathers
---->photograph locations?
--->comments, social feed from others?

-Talking to other devices
-Recommend things when nearby? divert journey?pick different paths?
-Know what you want to discover (roughly) then the app has options on what they recommend?

-Design a new type of device? Size of device?, how to carry device?

-Setting options to have bigger text, bigger buttons?
-Colour
-Options (how many?) Simplify options!, not too many on same page
-Think about type language
-Floor levels
-Language options for only specific things e.g. tours or info?
-Create the Te Papa Flavour and reflect in app
-Introduction to app, guide or rough explanation of What Te Papa is?
-Locate guide people on map (nearest)
-Lost?, go back to start of museum.
-Highlight things seen
-Know what direction your facing, Know when you've arrived.

Threats

-Too much looking down on screen
-Incorporate Te papa flavour
-Too expected (try something less expected)
-Don't put too much information on one page, have many different pages

SWOT Analysis notes
