Explanation

What makes the Tui an interesting bird is its vocal ability. I wanted to create an experience where the user is able to see and hear what the Tui sounds like, up close. This is because Tuis are often high up in trees and hard to spot.

When the visitors first find the exhibit they will hear sounds of the environment. When they approach the exhibit and make a sound which could be a whistle or just talking, there will be a Tui noise. This also, limits the noise in the area since it might affect other exhibits if the Tui constantly sang.

To enable a personalised experience, on the transparent windows of the display the users can pick an area that Tuis inhabit. The video on the inner screens of the exhibit will then play a video of Tuis singing in the corresponding environment.

To link in with the app I was thinking that the people would also have the option to download the Tui's call from the exhibit.
